Need help with body panel description!
Hi everyone,
I recently acquired a 1993 civic hatchback and when I went to take the rocker panel guards off they were starting to rust near the rear wheel. I am ordering new rocker panels to weld on, but I was wondering what the bottom portion of the rocker panel is called. It is rusted pretty badly as well, but when I went to look at a picture of the panel from fixmyrust.com it didn't seem like the bottom portion was considered the rocker panel.
This portion, that is rusted and seperated from the car is the rocker panel, correct?

but the part that would be directly underneath it, if you were to lie down under the car and look straight up, would be considered what..?
I know that it needs to be sealed/rewelded to pass saftey, because of body integrity and the fact that fumes can get in the car.
Just curious as to how these are fixed/what the panels are actually called.
Hopefully I can get some input, it would be great.
Thanks,
Matt

Wouldn't that be the floorpan? Maybe you can identify that part with an OEM parts catalog: http://www.hondapartscheap.com/index.php?p=home
Here are the pictures...

I tried sealing the rust patches on the end and I am ordering rocker panels because I figured it'll be best to do it PROPERLY. However, I don't know what to do about the bottom! Do I just seal it? Does the rockers from "fixmyrust.com" come with the bottom portion attached to the rocker? Any help would be great.
Does this look like it can't be fixed..?

Yeah, looks like it might be the the sill (#23) but, a little is on the floorpan (#22 which includes #23): http://www.hondapartscheap.com/parts...ng/inner-panel
And the rocker panel (#1): http://www.hondapartscheap.com/parts...ng/outer-panel

Great thanks a lot. The floorpan is really just surface rust, the entire floor plan, interior, and exterior for the most part is mint, just the rockers (and I guess the sill's) need work. So #23 and #24 with some rockers from fixmyrust.com (cause they're $40 and should do the trick) will work?
