Brakes are weak - need help
My daughter's 92 accord ex 4x4 came to me with weak breaks. When I stepped on the pedal it went most of the way to the floor and with great pressure was barely able to stop the car. Since it was an old car the 1st thing I did was check out all of the calipers and bled the lines. No change. Bad MC.
I removed the master cylinder and found it leaking from the shaft so I also removed the booster to check it out thoroughly. The booster was full of fluid so I dumped it and then tested it out of the car. With the vacuum line attached and my left hand over the MC hole I depressed the foot pedal side with my finger. With very moderate pressure the plunger pressed hard against my other hand eventually pushing it off of the booster.
I re-installed the booster and installed a new MC after bench bleeding.
The pads were worn almost to the sounder so I replaced all 4 sets.
I re-bled the lines and now the pedal feels good but I still don't have any brakes.

Are you sure the booster is good? After it was half full of fluid it may have been damaged. You might try removing the vacuum line (and plug it of course) and see if the car takes more foot pressure to stop. If not, the booster could be suspect, try one from the salvage yard and see if it makes a difference.
Sounds like maybe you need to adjust the booster to MC pushrod I just did mine in a 90 accord made a big difference my wife used to complain that you had to stomp on the brakes there are writes ups on it
The booster appears to be working as I described above. I can see where the gap being too close could cause the breaks to lock. The booster however should not be able to affect the breaks as it should work kind of manual mode if the booster is non functional.

This is a quote from part six
There must be some clearance between the pushrod and the MC plunger, otherwise your brakes may lock on as you drive. If there is too much clearance, the pedal will feel soft and will have excessive travel. I ended up with the latter. The manual specifies 1 to 5mm clearance. I had 10mm. I did not think to check the clearance before I started, so I don't know what it originally was. The pedal definitely felt looser than before though, in spite of a very thorough bleeding session.
