Default D17A1 auto transmission to D17A2 engine

My motor on my 05 vp is starting to burn oil. I don't want to deal with replacing seals/re-building the engine as it is my daily. I found a few d17a2 engines cheap and I was wondering if there were issues with my old d17a1 tranny fitting the d17a2 (other than gearing). I'm quite aware of the vtec issue. I'm just wondering if the tranny will pair as well as the exhaust manifold/exhaust, etc... I know the oil pan is slightly different in the ex models and hope it won't bump into piping. I'm more concerned about fit than anything.

Transmission works, I have my lx trans on my d17a2 just use your exhaust manifold and you should be fine. You may have issues with egr valve if you're using an American d17a2. The Japan ones don't have egr same as my 02 lx motor....

Naw, the ECM/PCM won't even know it's there. Just like it won't know the VTEC is there.

Thanks guys. You 100% sure the ecm won't recognize the EGR valve? If i grab a d17a2 i'm prob just going to buy a vafc and not deal with a ex ecu.
