Curious what BOV you guys think this is. Good example of the noise @ 1:30 of the video

Although i'm not a raging fan of it, I have an SSQV3 on my STi and it holds 20psi perfectly. Having said that, i've been waiting for a good excuse to swap it out for a new Tial Q

 

i wouldn't say they "leak"
i know the ebay replicas do haha

 

we've had real ones leak on high hp sr's all the time, as well as rb's
the only thing it didn't leak on was the sti but that was stock save for cobb stage 3 package or something.

 

^It works for me, but then again, my STi is relatively stock aside from your standard "stage BS" upgrades on the stock turbo and bottom end. When I replace the turbo and topmount, the ricer BOV is gone too

 

yea i can't tell you how annoying it is..
someone was driving my buddies s13 (sr) and he found me going up the highway... all i heard for 5 miles was constant hks ssqv noise because he thought he was cool and wanted to race.

i should of just run him off the road lol

 

are all the hks ssq versions on ebay for $60-80 knockoffs?

 

I hate that ****. I think its funny when you hear a car barely get on it and the BOV opens up. That just screams "stock turbo, Im slow" lol

 

Love how it took that long to catch up with a mini van.

I find most SSV sounds annoying. I still have an old school HKS racing valve. Its just a valve that lets air out. Sounds great without any whistling devices in the path.

lol every srt4 does that ****. it seems like their first mod is a rfl bov. im all for loud **** but it better be a 10 seconds car on the street

 

Think the ebay knockoffs would have the same sound?

 

yeah ebay or real hks , all sound the same.

 

hard to find anyone selling them with a steel flange

 

we have used both the real hks and ebay ones, sounds the same, works the same. the ebay one leaks. haven't really had any problem with the hks.

 

Ya Im just gonna end up with a 1g dsm bov, they work flawlessly for cheap

 

Crush it slightly if you want it to hold pressure better.

 

Only when its a 1st Gen DSM and when its top structure is "crushed". you have about 35lbs/min to play with. That's why the DSM guys upgrade too.
