Icon2 2002 Honda civic ex remote wire/amp problem

Okay I have installed a new factory head unit got the harness a hooked up and the remote wire ran to my amp, ground connected and power wire to the battery. I turn the car on, head unit works but amp doesnt kick on. I tried a new ground, still nothing. I checked all fuses and they were fine. I bought a new remote wire plugged it in to the amp still nothing. I tried using a jumper wore from the 12v to the remote on the amp and it flickers on. So what could possibly be wrong? I tried hooking the remote wire to the correct wire on the head unit and to the ignition accessory wire. They both turn on the head unit but not the amp. Should I open up the amp and check for bad fuses? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah the amp did work about two days ago before I got the civic in a 2000 dodge neon. It was in there for probably a year and it has always worked fine. Although it is a cheaper Sony xplod 1000w but it has always pushed my subs perfectly. Thanks

Whatkind of fuse are you using next to the battery? anl or agu? Do you have a meter to check voltage?

I'm not sure actually, I'm not an expert in car audio I just know how to do it. I don't have a voltmeter but I'm supposed to be getting one from a friend. Would anl or agu be the problem? Even though it worked in a different vehicle with the same fuse I have?
