Default non cvcc head that fits '83 EM1

I have a 83 wagon with the EM1 motor that i bought in may with blown head gasket. Pulled head and found that it is cracked from the aux port to the intake and the lobe on #4 exhaust is flat which ruined the rocker. My machine shops wont touch it and the ones that will want way to much. So i ordered another head and found it to be warped on the cam side which also had the same cam lobe bad. So i looked online and found a non cvcc head in canada, called the yard gave them application and they have one that will fit they say but he cant give the casting number due to its not there and they are the middle man for alot of other yards. Finally my question does any one think it will fit or worth the risk of ordering, and does anyone know which non cvcc heads fit the EM1.

If it's from Canada, and it's from the same year of Civic, and the same displacement engine, it's probably the same. You can check by comparing the headgaskets on a site like Rock Auto. They tend to carry both US and Canadian parts. Or check 1stgencivic.org

Thanks, I thought the same just double checking. They're chargin 325 no core plus shipping, isthat the goin rate? Line borin the cam is about the same cost on the other head i have, just thought this would be the better way to go. I bought all new valve train parts and cam, would happen to know if they fit in the non cvcc head? the parts store i got from listed them as US or Canadian, but they are not always right in my past dealings.

Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion, dont quote me here, the head on the cvcc motors has a pre(aux) combustion chamber that ignites the mix that in turn ignites the main chamber. It had to do with emissions. It let honda import cars with out puttin cats on them. Ive heard diesels kinda use the same thing. the problem though is when u burn lean mix it creates more heat, and with a cast block and aluminum head they tend to have head gasket/warping. Ive bought 2 heads and checked another and all were warped on the cam side so bad, alot of shops gave me a crazy high quote to try and fix it. also on two of the heads the same lobe on the cam was flat(#4 exh). my wife is about to shoot with all this extra money and time ive spent on this car but its such a cool car with one 2x2 spot of rust, and around here this is a rare rare find.

If you have any way to get a hold of another 82-83 Non-us non-cvcc head please pm me! Very interested, been looking for one buy haven't come across one actually for sale yet. Thanks and good luck with your engine build and problems.

As an owner of three Gen II Civics, I wondered about this as well.

I have a sneakin' feeling that you would also need the intake/exhaust manifold and would have to re-match the upper and lower timing gears.

Just speculating here...
