Honda Civic CRX awd b18a
Hye guys,
I need some advice before i go off and waiste all of my hard earned money on a project that might not even work.
My plan was to use a Honda Civic cr-x '88-'91 as base car.
I want to add the AWD system from the '88 civic wagon(if i can ever find one in europe). And do an engine swap from the Integra Type-r preferably the b18a engine.
My question is would this be possible on the 88's AWD civic wagon system or would i need to look at another AWD system for the CRX.
If i do need another AWD system, what is possible with the CRX?
And how much can i expect to pay(either in dollars or in euro's)?
All help is appreciated guys

It can be done.. Has been before..
You may want to look into the CRv drivetrain as it is awd with a b series but might take more fab work.. The wagons awd system is set up for a d series but you can get a b to d adapter plate.. And if you have to ask how much it costs you probably can't afford it... I know the adapter plates run a few hundred bucks alone

Thanks for the information. I'm trying to source a AWD civic wagon, but it's just about impossible in the Netherlands. I think i i will have to go for the cr-v setup.
I was maybe thinking of even trying to shoehorn a K20A block from the DC5 type-r in. but i do not know if there is enough room in the CR-X engine bay to even make it possible. and i do not know if the CR-V AWD system will work with the K20A block.
I'm trying to get as much performance out of the CR-X as possible yet make it more driveable than a standard FWD.
Any idea's on what else might work as a good setup?
