Removing Underbody Dirt and Rust Proofing
Hey guys, so I have searched around the web for a solution to my problem and not found anything too specific. I am currently working on stripping and repainting my Civic and am attempting to remove all 15 years of dirt and some sort of aftermarket rust proofing. So far I have gone at the rear quarter panels with a wire wheel but it was messy and pretty in-affective. Here is a picture of what it looks like now....

My question is, does anyone think sandblasting will do a better job or will I just have to stick it out and keep using the wire wheel method?

neither. use a scrapper. wire wheel will just gum up and you cant sandblast that stuff. it will take too long and just make a huge mess.
Thanks, seems to be on track with what I have read so far. I am just going to use epoxy primer as its a track car and gets driven 20 times a year if that.

Por-15 is some bad *** ****!!! We used it on a my first project, an old 74 Karmann Ghia vert. I used a high concentration of Purple power and let sit for 20 minutes and then scrub with a brush to knock off. Then use whatever undercoating you prefer.
