Default EG radio question

my stock radio in my EG has really poor reception for FM on a lot of channels. For example if i hit seek it will run from like the 90's to like 105.whatever without stopping at any major channels. And in newer cars i know this isn't an issue.

So i'm wondering if its a radio issue or an antenna issue, because i've tried extending my antenna while driving around and it didn't help at all. So any info would be greatly appreciated cus i dont wanna drop 100+ on a new radio and it not have solved it.

i'd say it's an antenna issue.

i read some reviews on there that said it was kinda poor. did it improve your reception? and is that like a windshield mount one?

as long as you get a good ground that's sanded to bare metal, it will be good.
and yeah it mounts on the windshield, besides a tiny red dot, it's pretty stealth. i just covered the tiny red dot with black electrical tape

This seems more like an antenna issue. I had a stock radio not too long ago and I hardly picked up any well known channels. I was going to swap out the radio anyways, but when I did, the problem still persisted. Turns out it was the antenna so I went over to the junkyard and picked me up a new one. Problem solved. I could be wrong. From the looks of my radio, it seemed to have been tampered with, that could be why. Any cases of previous owners swapping out your radio?

my radio? no its completely stock and looks almost brand new despite a little wear on the face. Its got to be maybe a ground issue or just the antenna itself is worn, because yesterday i was driving around and i put my finger on the antenna to put some pressure on it and it cleared up a little static on one station so i figured its definitely an antenna issue so i'm just going to look for a replacement of some kind.
