Icon2 obd code P0717 and shifting isues

Ok I know there is a tread that discusses the P0717 code bt not sure if my 2 problems are related. I have changed the Pickup Assy/sensor that would gie the code and thught that tha would solve he problem. Nope. When my wife was driving the ar home, the "D" indicator stared to flash. I have checked the fluid level and it does seem to be a little low. The trans wasreplaced a few yers back after a accidednt she had (long story) and was told it had 30k less than the car. the car has 99k on it now. Any clue as to where I should start, I hope I do not have to have the trans rebuilt.

A P0717 will result from an electrical failure of that sensor circuit. Meaning you have either a bad sensor (do a resistance check), or open wires going to and from the sensor to the PCM. If those check out with a multimeter, the PCM will require replacement. Are you sure you replaced the right sensor?

Need to know what car you drive to help you more.

As for replacing the correct sensor ??????. I was going to test the old one, but I broke it trying to get it out. The one I changed was the one that is closest to the engine, firewall side. I checked the wires that were pluged into the sensor and got 4. something volts I think from the 2 outer pins, but nothing frm the center, again ?????.
