aem ems w/ stock distributor question
One of my buddies is willing to sell me his aem ems series 2 for dirt cheap and i was wondering if you need to go coil on plug with the aem or can i stay on the oem distributor?
You can run it with a stock Dizzy, but the signals are notoriously noisey and the AEM always seems to have issues picking up the signals from a stock dizzy cleanly. You'll want to go with a T1 Cam Trigger or an AEM EPM for the best results
Ok cool thank you i'm still new to this site not really used to honda techs search engine quite yet.
If it is an OEM HONDA Dist. and is in good working order u will have a chance, but if it is an aftermarket unit, just do yourself a favor and leave it by your night stand for when ur girl gets out of line and beat her over the head with it cause thats about all those junks are good for!!! Like Xenocron said, the signals are very poor and aem has a hard time picking them up. Ruined a couple motors many moons ago with happy harry distributors and the older aem boxes>>>
