Hay all has anyone installed a AEM Cold Air Intake onto their B16A i just wanna know cux im tossing up between an AEM or a KN Typhoon intake.

I'd rather go with the AEM but i just want'd to know if anyone has one installed and how its running in the civic.

As far as cold-air intakes go, AEM is the top brand...

I would go with the AEM over the K&N, but I haven't had experience on that particular engine..I jsut like them better O.o

thanx for the advise, i had my heart pretty much set on AEM gear now its just a matter of getting some shipped down to Melborne Australia. There is a AEM distributor two states away from me about 22 hours drive but the a55hole wont contact me.

AEM makes really good products but I would be wary of the cold air version. It has caused it's fare share of hydrolocked engines but I don't know the weather habits of Australia.

I would look for am PW JDM whalepenis as well.

AEM makes nice products, but I wouldn't go out of my way to procure them. If you have another, similar intake system that is more easily available to you, I'd go with that instead.

Didn't some guy run some test awhile ago comparing 4 or 5 differnet intakes and there was only a 1 hp difference between a name brand intake and the ebay special intake? Anyone have the link to that? I know its somewhere here on HT.

Edit: Id go with the AEM intake

if you really want to get a brand intake get AEM...i raelly dont find a difference in just gettin a ebay pipe and just putting a aem filter on it then just paying 100+ for a brand one

If your talking about the quality of intakes, It is hands down INJEN.

INJEN makes the cleanest best fitting intakes around, not only does the intake look great, the components that it comes with are all high quality. No cheap silicone stuff & no fitment issues.

As far as power wise, it's all comparable & depends on the filter technology that is being used. I am sure you won't be dissapointed with INJEN.

If your looking for all out power than opt for a rubber intake such as Iceman and used a foam type filter to maximize airflow. It won't look as nice under the hood but it makes up in power gains even though it's minimal.

I have the AEM V2 CAI on my B16A2. Great intake imo...comes with everything that you need, down the bolt.

G'day boys good to see everyone has thrown in their own two cents. Look i think i have decided on aem i have found a supplier in sydney which is only 8 hours away from melbourne so i won't be a problem.

I was quite worried about hydraulic lock with using a CIA as melbourne is going through a massive rainy season.

Anyone have any experience with the AEM bypass filter its meant to eliminate any chance of hydraulic lock.

Also i want my engine to have performance and a show look so i have opted for AEM due to its balance between performance and asthetics.

i would go with the password intake my car pulls a lot harder with that over the AEM intake. i'll sell you my AEM cold air for $20
