Default What feed lines are you guys using for Garret turbos?

I've got a -3an, and it works, but here's my question. What keeps the turbo from seeing 6 bar (90~ PSI) of oil pressure that my engine is making at cold startup?

I think my turbo seals are going, because while warming up, my car will smoke blue oil smoke pretty badly, then stop almost completely once the oil pressure has dropped to normal levels. Spark plugs don't have oil residue on them, just the inside of the turbine housing of the turbo is moist looking last time I pulled it off.

Help please!

I see in another post where the HKS oil feed flange has a small entry hole to stop up the pressure some, it this the only choice?

i used a -3an line also ... however the highest oil pressure i ever saw was around 50psi and sometimes it dipped below 5psi at idle

oh well don't have to worry about that anymore hehe.

use -3 AN...

hmm blue smoke at start up usually indicates worn valve guide seals....
does it go away after 30 sec ?

It's not AT startup, it happens after the car is running for 30-120 seconds, and I figure it's turbo seals because I've seen the oil in the turbine housing, and the exhaust seems to have to be warmed up for this to happen. If I let the car sit idle at startup, it starts to smoke after about 2 minutes, and get to the point of almost being a cloud once I move it. It clears after the first 2-3 minutes, and only seems to smoke at high vacuum/high oil pressure situations like closing the throttle, and letting the engine decel with the car in gear. Once you get back on it, and put some heat throught the exhaust, SMOKEY TIME.

Sucks, really Plus, I don't want to rebuild the turbo just to have this problem come back withing a few months.

My T28 has a restrictor built into the oil inlet.
