ok techs i need some help. i have an 01 honda civic coupe lx with 99k on it. hasnt been serviced for the 100k tune up yet but i always keep my oil changed every 3k. i recently moved from VA to NC and drove the civic there. no problems at all what so ever. i let the car sit for about a week when i arrived. now when i drive it there seems to be an idle problem. car runs fine. does not seem to be any power loss. when i am at a stop light at a normal idle, the rpms drop and the engine almost cuts off then quickly jumps back to normal idle. any ideas? im thinking maybe IACV? let me know what you guys think. thanks a bunch

 

Start with inspecting and cleaning the IACV and throttlebody. Also check for codes.

 

no lights but ill hook it up n see what pops. i figured it was at least the IACV just checking. thanks for the help!

 

Ive been having a similar problem, which i think is likely the IACV. havnt gotten around to cleaning it yet though thanks to the remnants of the hurricane. its interesting that I only notice it when the temp is cooler outside.

 

thats funny. cuz it was raining hard as can be on the drive down and during the week it sat. hmm maybe just some dirt or residue then. ill pull it apart this week
