I noticed today when I was driving that whenever I let off of the gas pedal I could hear a single knocking type of noise. It isn't too loud or anything and it's only when my car is in gear. I have a 5 speed Honda Civic Ex. Also I noticed it happens sometimes when I press down the clutch also. Any ideas on what possibly could be the problem?

 

Might be the transmission or the clutch needs to be replaced........

 

I had the same issue a while back but the best bet is to get it look at as soon as possible before it get worst!!!!!

 

engine probably goin or your crankshaft is knocking

 

could be input shaft bearing if the noise only happens in gear. If you are sitting with the car in neutral and the clutch engaged can you still hear it? Then it goes away when you press the clutch in?

 

It could be two things the Crankshaft is goin or in some cases your compressor could be shaking when the engine is running that happened to me before I had that knocking and swore it was the crankshaft but when I mounted it and took a closer look it was just my compressor rattling lol
