Gsr piston ring gap???
I got a b18c1 that I'm building with all oem stock parts I need to know what gap I need for the 1st and 2nd rings...this is ganna be my daily driver and possibly turbo it 8psi in about a year!
May find what you need here... https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/my-b18c1-engine-build-assembly-2951496/ 94
You dont have to gap/file oem rings. YOu can check the clearances with a feeler gauge but they will be all within specs. If you buy forged pistons with aftermarket rins. Ring gapping is a must. I build motors all day just FYI.
End gap:
1st ring: .008" - .014"
2nd ring: .016" - .022"
Oil ring: .008" - .020"
Groove to ring clearance:
1st: .0018" - .0028"
2nd: .0016" - .0026"
Be aware that Honda is very precise about the placement of the gap on each ring. If you mean to turbo this thing, you really need to blueprint it. And that means a factory manual so you can get everything dead-on.
Do yourself a big favor and invest in one of these: http://www.google.com/imgres?num=10&...r:27,s:0,i:163
