94 Ex with LS swap, idle high and sometimes surges?
i know really nothing about swaps, i picked this up because it was cheap... its a 94 ex coupe 5-speed with a B18A1. has intake tube, and one piece ITR header... guy said it is using the computer out of the integra LS. the guy i just bought the car from did not do the swap, he bought the car like that and the clutch went out so he sold it to me cheap. the check engine light is on, the car idles a little above 1,000 rpm on the stock tach, and sometimes it will surge up/down a few times, sometimes it will surge once every minute or so. any ideas? im very mechanically inclined, just not up to par on swapped hondas and the whole honda game. in input is appreciated. just need to get it running clean so i can sell it.
Well if surge goes up in idle it is the air idle control valve( or motor) located on back on intake mani near the throttle body, take off 2 10mm head bolts and any water lines ( if still used) spray inside of it with brake clean, if that dont stop it then u most likely have a vacumm leak. May take couple times of cleaning if really bad. High idle can be a few things, mainly throttle cable not adjusted correctly or air bleed screw on middle top of throttle body has been played with (useally to bandaid other issue)

Jack the nose up as high as possible [you want the radiator cap higher than the rest of the cooling system]. Pull the radiator cap off, start it up and let it run until its at running temperature. Add coolant/water, as the level drops. Once the level stops dropping, shut the car down and add coolant to top it off, top off the over flow.
If you have bad cavitation, you could have a bad thermostat or head gasket.
