Default Del Sol will not stay on

I have very recently run into a problem with my 1993 Del Sol, SI model. Whenever I turn the car on, it turns on and then dies/stalls immediately. To further explain, I turn the key to the on position, it turns the car on as in, does the normal vroom for the intial startup, and then dies as fast as it started. I would not even have time to turn it on and then off with the key before it dies. Its a brand new 98 jdm ITR swap in it, not more than 2 months in use, 58k miles. Upon installation I installed a new distributor cap and spark plugs and timing belt, etc. I kept the same plug wires that came with the motor as well as the actual distributor and injectors. Prior to this stalling event happening I used a can of sea foam in a full tank of gas and had gotten about 1/4 of the way through the tank and then the problem occured. Since this incident I have changed the fuel pump and the main relay. I have also checked all the fuses, grounds and even tried swapping ECU's, to no avail. If anyone can shine some light on what is going on it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Where does it say you are supposed to use a whole can of Seafoam in the gas tank?

Are you throwing any CELs?

If your itr swap was "brand new" why did you use seafoam in the fuel tank?

Try changing the spark plugs.

This!!! Seafoam will foul your plugs in a heart beat! If I remember correctly you are not suppose to put more than a 1/4 of a can in your tank

Check your grounds on your thermostat. I had the same problem after my GSR swap. Easy fix

Seafoam bottle says 1pt (16 oz) treats 8-25 gallons, I had a full tank appx 11gal. I used seafoam because I always use it on my swaps after about 2k miles, just a habit, to clear the injectors mostly. No CEL, plugs are brand new but I will take a look at them. For grounds I have tranny to chassis, engine/ valve cover to chassis, alternator and starter. Where is the thermostat ground located?

Looked at thermoground, thought it was starter ground, whatever, its intact, wires look alittle beat but nothing is touching. Pulled the plugs, they look excessively wet and reek of fuel. Wiped them off and just letting them dry now.

Its your ignition switch bro, happened on my accord. Try holding your key all the way forward after it starts, if it stays running, its defiantly the ignition switch. $50 bucks at the parts store.

Good info ej1, did that and I was able to keep it on. I think I might end up just bypassing stuff and putting in a push start or take a look tomorrow when its light and see if I can't re-solder it. Autozone wants 229 for the ignition switch and other crap that I don't need.

Don't do that you will regret it. The previous owner did that to my car and I hate it!!! Here is a link where I just ordered my ignition switch for under $50. I am not much for eBay but as you couldn't justify paying over $200
