1993 Honda Del Sol SI - Starting problems
I have a 1993 Honda Del Sol Si w/ a SOHC VTEC D16
Here lies my problem and some backround of the vehicle.
I was driving in 1st gear and i was driving hard from 1st to 2nd and when i shifted the car died out on me. It sounded like it lost fuel. I let the car sit for a second then started it up. It started no problem. I popped the hood and listened to it idle and i gased it and it died out on me. Now it doesn't start. Just cranks.
Here's some backround on the car.
It has the following parts brand new
Fuel Filter
Fuel Pump
Spark Plugs
Wires
Distributor/cap/rotor
starter
clutch/pp
3/4 tank of regular gas
190K motor. Timing belt and pump haven't been replaced from my knowledge from the previous owner who owned it from 174k to 185k. I have a engine gasket set, timing belt, water pump, and all new belts awaiting to be installed.
I need advice as to what may be causing this issue. I do not know how to pull the engine codes although i don't think it has any.
Cliff notes: Car doesn't start, has new parts, i've got spark and fuel, i've checked all the fuses and its all good. Could it be a relay? Sensor?

Car sounds like it wants to start, sputters a little big but just cranks.
How do check the CEL?
What would a compression test do? It wasn't burning oil, just a random issue. I was thinking maybe bad gas?

Well, is your check engine light on? If it is lit up, then go where your ECU is at on the passenger side and there is a green(I think) plug hanging there by itself. Take a paper clip and stick each end into the two holes in the plug. Do this while the car is off. Then turn the key to on position and the check engine light will flash at you for codes. slow flash is the first number and fast flash are the second number. There is a CEL code list some where here, just search for it. Other than that you might have water in your gas tank. That happen to my friend before. But I would check the compression before you take the whole gas tank out.
