I'm building an fjt/vitara setup and I was looking into a different turbo because my current eBay Ching Chang turbo won't make the power I'm looking for.
I have a chance to pickup a holset h1c that is in great condition, there is no play
So would this turbo be to big???? I'm looking at boosting 18-20psi
And hp goal is around 330-350whp
So I have seen a lot of hy35 on d16's but no h1c's so please share what you think about this turbo and if it would be fine for me to use on this build

I wouldn't use it.
Spend the extra money and invest in the hx35 or hy35 the less compressor blades the better.
That is if your dead set On the holset trend.

 

I ran a H1c on my car...18psi made 380whp and ran 7.20@99-100, if ur getting a good deal and it's in good shape..use it. I had a bullseye exhaust housing for it, came on at 3200-3400 rpm

 

Looks like I'm going to try it out then because that's some good power
About what rpm range are you building full boost at?

 

That's the only reason it made good power. Kinda pointless to spend 280 on the housing unless your getting it with the turbo.

 

Well I'm getting the turbo for 100 so that's cheap enough to try it
And all the seals are good so it can't hurt much but a days work I guess

 

Yeah my housing & Vband was around the 225-235 range, but worth it in my opinion. I LOVED that turbo, decided to do a diff set up so I sold it :/. Hope u have good luck w/it like I did man
