Resistor box wiring?
I bought this car used and am trying to figure out if i have a resistor box so i can run the neptune rtp. I found what i believe to be one. It has the box power wire soldered to the original 4 black/yellow wires going to the injectors and the remaining 4 wires out of box to the injectors. Does that sound right? Im not able to get a ohm reading at the ecu harness for some reason? Thanks.

well with the little info on your setup
check this out
this how to wire it up but you can figure out what your looking for i think

It appears to be wired correctly. However do you happen to know what the ecu needs to see in ohms? My resistor box is measuring 6.3ohms and injectors 2.1-2.2ohms so thats only 8.5 max.

why do you have the box to begin with
that is the main question
what injectors do you have to require the box?
inform us on what your car has currently

i assume your not tuned, this what you should do
do not install the injectors or the resistor box until you make to the tuner for dyno tuning.

No offense but i know what im doing. Ive tuned my rx7 turbo, supercharged rsx, supercharged civic, and now this civic. Im just trying to verify that the last guy wired it up right as i dont want to fry the ecu.

how do you figure i was being a douche?
you said you tuned before so you should know what to do
if you know how to ride a bike, then why should i show you?
you peeps really need to stop snapping at people trying to help you because you dont know the answer.

So why did you mention tuning if you're talking about wiring? If the resistor box is wired up correctly maybe explain exactly what is the issue because I, in my limited experience, don't see one.

where did i say anything about your tuning?
i said you should take it to your tuner and dyno tune it.
please dont twist my words
geez people are so touchy

Sorry i thought you implied that i didnt know what i was doing.
The issue is i only have 8.4-8.5ohms between my injectors and resistor box and ive read and been told i need 12-14ohms. Now hrtuning says that i should be fine and im inclined to believe him as he sells and tunes them. Just wanting another opinion as i borrowed ecu and dont want to fry it.

Stock ecu's are made for saturated injectors generally the coil resistance is from 10-15 ohms.
I'm assuming you bought peak and hold injectors. Those injectors have a coil resistance of 1-4 ohms.
Since you stated you have 2 ohms across the injector.
If you have a an 8 ohm resistor box you should be fine with 10 ohms of resistance.
To check the resistance at the ecu probe the injector's negative side. (Red,blue, yellow,or brown wire) and the other probe at either your junction connector with the yellow/blk wiring or at igp1 or 2 at the ecu.

I have 2.1-2.2ohms at injectors and 6.1-6.3 at resistor box. So should i wire in some additional resistors like 4.3ohm or so to bring it up to 12.5 or so? I can get 4.3ohm resistors from a local shop here and could solder them to the 4 outputs of resistor box.
If you don't want to replace the resistor box with the right one, remove the resistor box completely and go to radio shack and pick up some 10 ohm 10watt resistors they're like a buck a peice and solder those to your 12v signal (yellw\blk) wire .
Keep in mind it looks ugly having those big fat resistor in your harness, but if you don't care who looks at your bay and just wana do 4th gear freeway burnouts have at it.
ive had bad luck with the radio shack inline resistors in the past. if your worried about how it looks peel the loom back to where the harness is under the intake manifold and solder the resistor box in down there. bolt it to the bottom of the manifold and no one ever sees it.
all yellow/blacks from all injectors get soldered into the single wire/color coming off the box (i think mine was a red wire but i dont remember). then each of the 4 coming out of the box goes to its own individual injector. ive never measured resistance in the system but ive never had an injector issue, also using neptune.

Lmao..... K there's 7 wires. 3 get joine together the other four is output for your injectors. Use your meter to determine this usually.
What software are you tuning the 780's
On?

I have a resistor box it just doesn't measure as much as I'd like. Some people say I'll be fine others don't so I don't know what to do. And my box only has 5 wires.
One wire is your input 12v and the other are the outputs to the injectors.
Sir9civic has a funky *** resitor box, or he has one for a six cylinder and doesn't know how a resistor box works.?
