Default 95 GSR battery/alternator issues

Hi,

I think my alternator is going bad. With the car running the battery gives me 11.5v-12v at the battery terminals. I know that sounds like a bad alternator. The thing that gets me is when I test the volts with an engine ground and the positive battery terminal I get a normal 14V. Does that still sound like a bad alternator or is there something else I should try before I go buy a new one?

You need to read what you wrote before posting. This is tough to follow.

Not even going to try and decipher this.

under the same conditions measure the voltage from your engine ground to the negative battery terminal and post with the results.
