Troubleshooting 1992 Accord DX. Died/won't start.
Last Saturday headed home my 1992 Accord DX shut off and would turn over but would not crank. I took out the main relay and re-soldered the board, tested it and put it back in.. No luck.. That night I towed it to my house.. Two days later I tried to start it up and it cranked right up but only ran for about 5 minutes and shut off without a sputter, just cut right off...
Today I replaced the fuel filter, and with the lines off I turned the motor over and found that I have good fuel pressure.. Then pulled the dist. cap. Rotor and cap look good.. Pulled a plug wire and put a screwdriver in it held it near a piece of metal and got no spark....
IS MY LOGICAL NEXT STEP TO REPLACE THE DISTRIBUTOR?
I'm not an experienced mechanic, so I have asked for opinions from people I respect.. All of them come with differing answers.. Coil, distributor, plug wires.... Even "it's the 'brain'" from the drunken neighbor who always knows best.. Please, any advice is as valuable as gold considering I am stranded in the sticks in this horrible Texas heat until I figure this out. Thanks in advance for any help you can lend.

If you have a multi meter check for 12v at the distributor.
I'm not sure of the color orientation but it should be the larger ylw/blk wire. If there's no voltage there check your wiring back to the main relay.
