So I failed emissions...
I have a 93 Honda Ex with a d15b. When I start it I get a strong smell of gas, and yesterday I had an idling problem (my car would shut off if I took my foot off the gas). So revved it up between 5000-7000 rpms to see if that would fix it After I pulled off I noticed a cloud of smoke from where my car once was. My friend and I changed my spark plugs(the old ones were still good), did an oil change, cleaned out the throttle body, seafoamed and put in a new O2 sensor(the old one cause a check engine light) over the last couple months. I took it to emissions, found out my hydrocarbon count was around 575 and co was 1.08. Any suggestions as to what my problems might be?
I'm trying to learn about cars and brands so I apologize for my ignorance,

Sorry. I thought there were more emissions data.
It seems that the engine was swapped because a 93 Civic EX should have a D16Z6. What ECU do you have?
How old are the cap and rotor? Have you checked the ignition timing?
Any CEL codes?
Any exhaust leaks?

My Ecu is an AWN..? I didnt get any codes the last time we checked. Is there any way to tell if my timing is slightly off without a timing light? It doesn't feel like it is but I'm still a noob. I blew smoke again today and I don't see any visible holes in my exhaust but I won't rule out any leaks because I did smell gas/exhaust while I was driving today. I'll be taking it to a shop to have someone go over it 2 days from now.
