Any tricks for getting to the O2 sensor, 91, 1.5 hatch?
Searching for "O2 sensor" gives me too much crap. Any tricks on reaching this thing? I have the crow-foot O2 socket, an assortment of 1/2" extensions and a 1/2" swivel. I still can't seem to get to the O2 sensor well enough to loosen it with engine hot and PB Blaster sprayed on it for a day. Any help?

OK..............I see how it is around here. This was obviously some kind of hazing ritual for the newb. I can take it, ****ers.
There's the little bastard, right there in reach, right? Looks so easy. This will be a walk in the park. Awwwwww, HELL no.

So, the radiator fan won't come out. I'll try and take out the A/C fan. That oughta give me some room to wrench.

Looks a little better, right?

Well, I'll just take out the batter/tray, like some other "trusty" members of this site have told me.

Looks like a lot of room , now, to get a set of extensions on there and work that puppy loose.

WTF? The angle of the O2 sensor requires I use a swivel in the middle of the extensions, to get the correct angle, but to loosen the O2 sensor, I would need to put torque on the fan, because of the swivel. Not gonna do that. I don't want a hole in my radiator. ****! I did end up taking out the battery tray, but it didn't help the angle issue any, so I started to drink heavily for a while.

At least, at this point, it's not 106 degrees in the shade, anymore, so I don't have to go insane. I know I'm just fuct, so I know what I have to do: take out the radiator. Shoulda just done that in the first place.

NOW we got some room to work.

It took the breaker-bar the whole time it was unscrewing, so I knew what I was going to see when I got the the apparently original O2 sensor out: damaged threads.

Most of the old O2 threads were left behind in the exh manifold. I didn't have a thread-chaser of that size, so I picked out what I could with a metal pick I have, then jammed the new O2 sensor in and put everything back together. Took me about 2.5 hrs, altogether.............and a 6-pack.....................and a Xanax.
I just want to say that I see how things work around here. Am I part of the group, now?
