Default 1990 Accord Lx Throwout Bearing

More problems with my Accord! (how wonderful)
I was driving home from work today and was having trouble shifting into second and fourth. My stepdad came by to diagnose my car and he said that there was something wrong with my throwout bearing and that it needed to be replaced, along with my clutch.
I was just wondering if I should even push my car driving to and from work before I can get it fixed? My job is only about 5 miles from my house, and my stepdad is working on getting the repairs set up for sometime this weekend.
Also, what happens when a throwout bearing goes completely bad? I already know what to do if my clutch decides it's had enough, but not the throwout bearing...

The throwout bearing really all it does is spin. It will make noise as any other bearing will do when it starts going bad. I would check ur fluid first. Could be a leak.

We checked the fluid, my screen in the fluid for my clutch is gone somehow and my clutch is pretty close to going out anyways. I bought a piece of ****. Hah. >.<

If it's grinding when going into those two gears, it's more likely the synchros going out. This would indicate the tranny needs to be replaced more than the clutch being bad. Normally when a clutch goes bad it starts slipping.

It's not grinding or anything. I just had to really tug on my stick shift to get it to go into gear. My third gear is the one that normally has problems (I do plan to replace the transmission) but what I found strange is that it went into third smoother than it ever has.
My clutch is going bad, I've noticed my rpms are not consistent anymore and sometimes it can take a while for my car to get up to speed.

Stupid car is riddled with problems. I was stupid for buying it. Oh well, I'm still WAY under what I would've spent on a newer car...that probably would've had more problems.

If you can do all the work yourself, then it's well worth it.

My Stepdad does the work for me. Or he finds someone who can for a reasonable cost.

Yeah I've noticed. I can't drive over 30 mph without having issues getting back into gear if I make a stop. Sunday cannot come soon enough.
