Default JRSC Super charger install questions

So Im buying a JRSC for my B16 tonight to throw on for some fun while i build a motor for a bigger setup, but I have a couple questions about the jrsc kit. After you install all the physical components, I know there are a couple elctrical things as well that came with the kit when new like some sort of timing retard box or something? Whats the deal with the electronic portion of a JRSC install? The kit i have was used and is missing the electrical portion of the stuff.

If I keep it on low boost can I just use an FMU and retard my base timing a couple degrees instead of using anything electronic?

It would be recommended to ditch the FMU, missing link and forget the Retard box entirely and go with a real EMS solution that will allow you real tunability over spark & fuel. You'll need it anyways with the bigger setup.

I understand that, but the JRSC setup will be going on a different car eventually with all the good stuff, but I have a B16 del sol that i want to throw it on for fun for this year until my build is done.

Its either use the jrsc fmu unit! or get a 3 bar map and a hondata s100 at least and have it tuned, you will mess something up running like that but its up to you.

It needs to be tuned, just like any other car. The JRSC FMU unit doesn't work very well, I know, I used to have one... like 6 friggen years ago.

Check a chipped OBD1 ECU and some 450cc injectors and tune a SC bin on Crome at <10psi - least expensive route at this point.

Yah I was only planning on running the 6 psi pulley on my del sol. I could do the DSM 450cc injectors those are pretty cheap too.

I really dont want to spend the money on Hondata and dyno time for something like this, its going to be a large waste of money for the power itll make. Stock motor B16 with a jrsc is probobly going to put down like 170-180 on 6 psi. embarassing almost lol.

I dont know much of anything about "chipping" ecu's
