Default B18C Piston and rod Q's

I decided to go turbo with my B18C1/90 Hatch build. I just have a question on the piston rod combo. Being as i have to bore this thing because of a previous stock piston ring land failure I'm looking to get Wiseco pistons (part # K541M815 ), with either eagle rods or Manley rods (part # 14026-4). I believe the manly rods are probably a little better, but my confusion was on the multitude of part #s from eagle which from what i can tell is a difference in length. Is there a way to tell what length I would want if I went the eagle route? And what are peoples experiences with both the Manley and eagle rods. Input is appreciated.

you want 5.433" rods. thats factory length.

i would spend the little extra for manley rods, its not that much more.

Eagle/Manley rods are both great rods. Eagle is more for the "budget" build as they are very cheap. Not knocing the brand at all as about more then half on honda tech use them. After 550whp though is when you might want to start looking into another set up rods. That is where manley / pauter, etc come in.

I am not sure of which part number of the manley you gave, but I know there is 2 sets of them. There is just the reg, manley which is alot like the eagle, and then there is the manley turbo tuff rod which is more good for 800+whp. It's pretty much what your build is going to look like/ how much power you want to make.

If your looking to make anything under 550whp, I would go with eagle. Anything past 550+whp, I would go with Manley, or Pauter. Hope that helps!

Well originally this started a simple NA build...but then i got a new job :D. SO now i have the money to afford good stuff, and im wanting to get around 500 hp but i dunno how possible that is, i would be satisfied with 300 to 400.
im thinking around 12lbs puts me around 300 range, but i want to boost 20. I will have a deckguard as well. Its not a DD by any means, more of a weekend warrior. Will this combo hold 20 lbs reliably?

After thinking it over a bit, being my first turbo build, i think ill stick with 12psi and I can always go up as i gain more knowledge and experience.

Those are the correct part #s for you. 14026-4 and K541M815. That is Turbo 81.5mm pistons and Rods for a B18C. Let us know if you need any help

Depends if you're talking about H-beams or I-beams. If H-beams, then Eagle are a better choice because of price, they would also yield approx same power as Manley H-beams. If I-beams then the Turbo Tuffs would be choice because best bang for buck and proven to work, then again Eagle doesn't make I-beams for us.
Eagle H-beams approx $300-340
Manley H-beams approx $350-400
Manley I-beams (aka Turbo Tuffs) approx $750-800

they can hold the same power, but the manley units are machined a lot better.
