Default Timing belt set right?

I'm just hoping this is what my engine sounds like with out the noise of bad motors mounts and acc belts.

I'm assuming if the timing was off to the point to where the engine would interfere it wouldn't idle so smooth.
I think next time I need this done I will take it to the shop, it's damn stressful.

Did you make sure the marks on the crank+cam were set to TDC BEFORE you removed the belt and when you put it back one?
Did you at all tighten the tensioner, is there excessive play on the belt?

A timing light and the know how would really help you.
If you don't know too much of what you're doing, and don't have another vehicle. Take it to a shop or have somebody who knows how to do it come to you and teach you or watch or something. Timing is a PITA

Yes everything was TDC when removed and put back on. I didn't move the cam or crank when the belt was off and when I put it back on I cranked it 6 times like the manual says. After cranking by hand six times I checked all the marks for the third time and they were all dead on. After that I cranked the engine 3 cam gear teeth past TDC loosened the tensioner and re-tightened it which apparently tensions the belt... right. I've done quad cam engines before, but they all have hydraulic tensioners which makes everything easier as there is no guess work.
So I took it for a test drive, seemed okay but then I was pulling back into the garage and it started to idle funny still not much more valve noise. I turned it off right away.
I found this.

I think its about 2 teeth off now. Hopefully that's not enough to bend any valves.

I would like to try this again, does anyone have any advice on how to tension the belt correct, i'm not even sure if anything is wrong. I'm so damn paranoid.

like we said in your other thread, you need to loosen the tensioner before turning it over 3 teeth. not after.

I did it both ways but I will try it that way again before taking it all apart and starting over. I did screw around with the belt a lot after that. Also I had the wrong timing mark on the crank pulley, if you look its not at TDC but the advanced markings. I set the timing back to the proper mark and my heads are spot on still, which is relieving. I still have a little voice in the back of my head that says its not right tho

Well I scrapped the Dayco tensioner and ordered a tensioner and spring from Honda, hopefully that will do the trick. I could probably drive it but it just doesn't seem right with the tensioner bolt not lining up with the timing cover, which is on correct.

that way i understood you set tension on the belt is you loosen the tensioner, move 3 teeth, then tighten the tensioner. Your belt may have been to lose and slipped.

Heres a side by sidw view of the old tensioner and the nnew one. The new one is a non oem dayco tensioner which.has bits of the belt stuck to it after 5 mins of run time. I measured the tensioner and it has dimensions that are more than 10 thousandths off from the 2 oem tensioners. Also the finish on the pulley is not nearly as smooth and polished who,h may be why the belt stuck to it.
