Default 97 ek hatch need advice

Well guys my endless problems with my 1997 Honda civic dx hasn't subsided. I need some advice. I know i have posted many threads on the problems i have been having. Many of you have tried to help me out but i think this one might be the end of my Honda phase. I have a 1997 Honda civic dx with a b16 motor and b18 tranny. the speed sensor wiring was cut the ecu is a jdm b16 p30 Idk what the engine harness is and the ecu is also for an automatic so basically is this car even worth trying to fix or should i just say screw it and give up. Im not exactly great at being a mechanic but this car is basically three in one....i don't know anything about it except the body is a dx and the tranny is a b18 that's it. there is alt of wiring that is messed up or not connected i have also looked at the ecu pious and many of the wires don't match the b16 p30 wiring pinout. if you can give me advice i would appreciate it. in all honesty when i got this car i was excited to be able to build it and fix the stuff but it seems like now Im just way over my head. this isn't a troll post i really want your guys advice on what i should do. alt of you know exactly what your doing and have gone through this situation in the past and know how i feel. thanks in advance and i appreciate all the advice whether other be negative or positive

It sounds like you just need to identify and acquire the correct engine harness and ECU.

Which type of B16 and what engine harness is currently in the car?

This is what would have come on your DX:

You need to make it look like this (depending on specific B16) if you have the original harness, either by adding the proper signals and/or using a conversion harness or proper engine harness:

I have what i believe is a b16 second gen p30 ecu. the engine Idk about. it says b16a on the engine either a black valve cover and the adjustable cam gears on the side. I currently have no clue what kind of engine harness i have but i do know that there are alot of wires that aren't hooked up. also with the transmission being a b18 wouldn't that affect the ecu as well?? this has been such a struggle trying to get this thing fixed

Sort it out, it might take time. Sounds like a good car. I'm not much of a obd2 expert but couldn't you get 99 or 2000 si engine harness? Get a good multi-meter and learn how to use it that should solve most of your problems.
