Losing Oil Pressure and losing antifreeze after warmup
I am in need of some suggestions as to what could be wrong with my motor. I have a B18C1 in my 90 Hatch. I lose oil pressure once warmed up and have no oil pressure on idle, but can maintain SOME pressure if I keep the rpms up at least to 1500. Knocks very bad if I let it idle and will ultimately die. but doesnt obtain full 60 psi oil pressure under acceleration or 40 psi under cruise. It typically has about half of what it should. A big plume of smoke comes from tailpipe if I let off the accelerator, then get back into it. It loses power once warmed up. Feels like the motor is running in mud. It has also developed a miss and is hard to start. It more or less stumbles to a start and isnt a smooth start up. Also, after driving and getting to the point of warming up there is a horrible hissing sound coming from around the area of where my intake manifold bolts to the block and is spewing steam. It loses about a half gallon of water in about a 15 - 20 min span. Basically once it warms up. So... whats wrong? Any suggestions? Anything I can check? Anything I omitted that could help diagnose? Thanks in advance everyone.
I'm sorry. Are you PAYING for tech support here? Some one will answer if they HAVE the answer. That's pretty much how it works on forums everywhere. Don't depend on number of views to mean that all those people are capable of helping you. It also doesn't help that you posted in one of the least viewed sections on the forum. Not to mention that it's tax free weekend AND people are probably watching the Olympics.
What should you do?
Compression and leakdown tests. Any search you could have done might have also told you that your headgasket is probably blown and your rings are shot.
Also, it is ill advised to keep driving it with little or no oil pressure. You're probably too late to avoid major damage to the engine or are probably causing more damage every time you run it. That knocking you're hearing is telling you that you probably fried some bearings too. The hissing noise you're hearing is probably a vacuum leak. Sounds like your engine has one foot in the grave.
