clutch:
he needs to buy one for a 90-91 teg because it has a smaller spline (25mm) than the 92+ tegs (26 mm).
mounts:
the car came with a b-series motor so he wont have to buy new mounts.

when you say b16a2
do you mean a second gen b16
or a b16 out of a civic SI.
also wouldnt it be easier just to get a first gen b16?

Here are the different ecu's...
http://www.hondaswap.com/reference/index.php?mode=ecu
Either one of those ecus should be ok. He might cosider getting a chipped P28 if he is not on a tight budget, that way you can do away with the knock sensor and second O2 sensor (I think the JDM motors have 2 O2's ).

you are correct, but you could convert it to obd1
my buddy, 91civicsi, is running his 95 gsr powered 91 hatch on a PM6 (civic si ecu) with the Zdyne One Wire Coversion...it runs great. Maybe your friend could check into that.

dude saveyourself ALOT of heacaches
sell the b16a2 swap for about 2500$
buy a first gen b16 and use the 1300$ you saved to upgrade the cams, intake manifold clutch and flywheel.
