Default Best tire for around 220whp boosted

After doing some research it seems as though everyone has their own favorite tire. I have read good things about MH and read some good things about Toyo. And I have read the owners of these tires talk badly about the other tire, even when the owner swears by them. Granted these individuals were pushing 500+hp.

Ideally I would like something that is decent in the rain and hooks like crazy under normal dry conditions, longevity is not a huge issue as I daily commute on my bike. I have my eye set on a pair of Toyo RA-1 205/50/15. Will this be enough tire? Also, I will be running boost by gear if necessary.

TIA!

LOL you and everyone else in the world.

sounds like you are drag racing.. so pick between getting off the line, or an all weather tire.

although at 220whp, i can't imagine why a normal high-perf summer tire wouldn't be plenty enough without having to compromise..

haha yep. I may be stressing about it too much. My last project made 350whp, no boost by gear, 205 azenis and was useless 1-2, had to baby 3rd and finally hooked in 4th. I reallyyy don’t want to have tire issues. But I guess 220 is low enough for 205 tires especially with boost by gear?

my car hooks up with 480whp in 3rd gear with 205-50-15 hankook rs2.

i can't see why any of the uhp summer tires won't. (re-11, star spec, etc)

you dont need anything special till you make over 300. At 332 wheel i spun the tires going 70mph in 4th, granted the turbo was huge and had a mountain like powerband vs a linear. i bought the nitto nto1s, turned up the boost and made 390 hooked no problem. I currently make 250-270 with a smaller turbo with kuhmo 205/50/15s and hook no problem. just get a decent brand tire and get 205-225s in the front and you wont have any problems, vrated or better should be fine
