hasport mount install help
I bought a hasport ekstk mount kit for my 99 em1. Drivers side and trans mount went in perfectly, whereas the rear mount is really being stubborn. I have been fighting it for hours. I had to remove the heater line from the firewall and the evap canister to be able to pull out the old mount. I got the new one in and three bolts threaded, but loose. But the bushing WILL NOT line up with the t bracket. I have tried chasing it with a dowel, jacking up and down the motor, everything. Is there a special trick here im missing?
Luckily I was fortunate. I started the car and revved it up a bit cycled between 1st and reverse to wiggle that bushing back up. Finally got it through after a good 3 hr fight with it. But holy rattles batman! Got some searching in the dash to stop the rattles at idle but thanks for the reply!
Rear mounts can be a mother f'ing bitch. lol
Normally you'd want to keep all the other mounts loose so you can move the motor back and forth.
if I do mounts, I do the rear mount first, since the other 2 are really quite simple.
