Default Running open cat safe?

EJ6 with b16a swap and ctr pistons. I have DC 4-2-1 headers and running a stock ex exhaust.
Until I can get my hands on some 2-1/2 inch exhaust, is running open cat back safe? The stock exhaust diameter is choking the hell out of my motor so I was wondering if I could run that until I get my hands on something.
Any alternatives? Cutting the pan off the axle-back? Open res? Open cat?

leave the freaking exhuast on!

True, the exhuast may be choking the engine, but why not just leave it on until you get a exhust? Your going to lose bottom end power, not that a b16 has any. it will be loud as hell, and vibrate the **** out of the floor.

Wont make much of a difference unless you want to breath that **** in while you drive, burn your eyes, be starred at by other motorist(<---not in a cool/good way) just so you can go around town ripping on you car because you wanna feel it pull.

You mean removing the just the axle back, and leaving the mid pipe open?

it would be hell of lot better then runing open cat(header) Still don't think it's worth it though.
