2004 base rsx, installed the radio well over a year ago never had any problem, now recently it will just cut out, come back on.. a few times, then not do it for days.

should I have my battery and alternator tested? What else can I check

it won't hurt to go to autozone to have your starting system checked

also you should pull out your radio and check the condition of your radio harness to make sure there are no exposed wires.

 

after a google, the maint light flashing 10x at start is hopefully just regular interval, so many miles and it pops on, and can be easily reset.

Most likely a loose connection when you put in the new unit. Don't use the crimp connectors. Either use the posi-taps, twist the wires real good together, insulate with electrical tape and zip tie to secure the tape, or solder, which is best.
