99 Civic Coupe EX Muffler Sizing & other exhaust questions
So in order to accommodate my turbo, i need to put a new exhaust on. Im going to a local exhaust shop to get the catback to pre-muffler put on and dont know what the specs should be on the muffler. I see that the stock one is center-in to center-out, but the dynomax vt only has the side to side or center to side (yes, they do have a center to center but its like triple the cost and thats just stupid). Which inlet/outlet setup would be best in order to line up with the stock exit hole, or will the shop just put 45 deg bends to line it up? Also, what is the max length of the muffler that will fit? Finally, they said they pressure bend and not mandrel, so how much effect will the sharper bends have on the exhaust flow (i know the mandrel is obviously better, but is it SIGNIFICANTLY better)?
The guy also said that 3" was overkill when i mentioned it so the final quote was 140 for 2.5" the catback to the muffler including a res. So is a 2.5" with the pressure bends ok for a 15g around 8-10 psi? I know this question might be better in the forced inductions forum, but i figured people here would know more about the sizing, which is the main issue.
Thanks!
