Hey guys asking a question on the oem keyless entry but does the fcc number matter for the 96-00 civics because I know there is two with 101 and 106 but there is more 106s than 101s remotes and I tried searching seeing that some people saying that it works and others saying that it doesn't but main question is will a fcc#106 work on a 96 civic lx or will I need the one with the option button thanks

 

96-98 and 99-00 Civics have different types of keyless systems.

 

The FCC # for my '98 LX is 106, so I would think it would work for your '96.

 

Theres alot of confusion over this, as before 99-00 the keyless entry is through the factory radio.

Youll want 106 from 96-98

 

I know its tied to the radio for the 96-98 but I was just wondering if the 99-00 fobs work on the 96-98 civics
