Default Civic '00 - program 3 buttons keyless transmitter?

Hello, according to service manual I read that only the 96-98 keyless control transmiter also has an OPTION button.

My question is that if it's possible to program 96-98 transmitter with "option" button into 99-00 control unit?

as far as I know.. it's not possible, different control module for the 99-00, and no longer built into the radio.

I think I might have been misreading your post. I thought you were asking if the option button is something that would work on the 99-00.. duh!! I think you were asking if the 96-98 keyfob would work on the 99-00. Because the 99-00 keyfobs are discontinued. If someone has a 99-00 keyfob post up the fcc ID then I can check mine (96) and see if it's the same. If it is, then yeah it would work.

Is that why you were asking because the 99-00 keyfob is no longer available?

I wanted to use the "option" button from 96-98 Civic in 99-00, but now i know that isn't possible. Better way is change the door control unit from e.g CR-V.

Ok I did some digging and reading this post
https://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-d.../#post33711109

I came up with two part numbers
72147-S04-A02 is for a 99-00 Civic 2 Door ex,si and 4door EX
08E61-S01-101 is for a 99-00 Civic 2 Door HX and 4 door LX and GX

the 08e61 is discontinued and you might try ebay for that.

if you have an EX, then part 72147-S04-A02 looks like it's still available.. College Hills Honda has them here
TRANSMITTER | Genuine Honda | 72147-S04-A02

$63.14 each.

But looks like the FCC ID is different between 96-98 and the 99-00 keyfobs. Hopefully you have an EX

it's cool.. i now understand.. wow im slow lately! yeah looks like you'll need a different module to pop the trunk (plus a power lock actuator for the trunk lock). The option on the 96-98 keyfob all it does it turn on/off the honking to answer that it locks and unlocks.

I don't think that was an option, trunk popper, for the 99-00. My civic si em1 fob didn't have it on the remote so I'd say no it won't work unless you wire in the 96-98 module and the trunk popping module.

Sorry for post under previous post, but I have a little question. In the manual about keyless entry system is:

These unit has a built-in antenna for transmitter?
