What to do a legal JDM Engine Swap in CA?
I have a stock 94' Civic EX with a USDM D16Z6 VTEC engine, but i want to put in a JDM B18C engine... I'm the legal kind of guy so what would have to be done for this engine swap to be legal in California?
Well yku need to have all the correct paperwork from jdm importer and then u gotta go to a place and get new emissions tag things and alot of paperwork. U also should get vin tags on the motor after paperwork for when u get pulled over and get looked at for stolen parts it pops up as legal and yours
There was a law passed last year or so that you can no longer swap in JDM engines on cars unless the car originally came with a similar engine in the US. What you can do is get a stamp and stamp it at the end.
