Hey guys I'm here and hoped not to be posting this soon but I have came across an issue. I have a 1989 crx with a b16 swap, and today I was just letting it idle for 10 mintues and next thing I know I see the temp gauge go up and I take a look under the hood and I see oil shooting out the back of the engine towards the passenger side. I didn't have any smoke coming out just oil going everywhere. I lost about 2 quarts of oil during this. Any idea's?

 

Any recent work done on the car? Do you have a sandwhich plate? Did you see if the oil filter was leaking? If you just changed the head gasket and that was the first time starting it, it could be that

 

No, I recently got the car, and from what it looked like the previous owner had left it sitting for a while.

EDIT:It sounds good when it does run though.

 

Well jack it up and take a look around the oil filter and see if you can find the leak. If its leaking that much I wouldn't start it again until you fix the problem

 

was your oil light on when this was happening? the oil pressure switches are known for leaking

 

The light was on yesterday, so I put more oil in and it went off.When I turned the car on today, the light was still off.

 

speed sensor location? oil clean or dirty?

 

I don't know where it is, I recently got the car, and I haven't had the chance to look at it much. I have been looking more into the bad and cheap wiring. and the oil is clean. I just put some in yesterday.
