Im having issues with the idle i changed the thottle body gasket, intake manifold gasket is fine,coolant is full, check engine light (C.E.L)is on, car at idle surges, mass air flow senor (M.A.S) one wire is torn almost all the way at the sensor itself. I tried adjusting the idle but it just keeps surging. I triple checked everything and cleaned the thottle body too. IM lost on what to do, i also disconnected the battery so it can reset, but it gave me the same issue. If anyone have any ideas it would help me out a lot thanks.

 

Pull the CEL. Fix it.

 

I already went to autozone and they got the code it said something about the idle or the air flow . I doubt it's the idle air control (I.A.C) because it was working today before i started to fix it and once i went to go adjust the idle it started to **** up on me. Im trying to see what else it could be im fresh out if ideas for now.

 

Pull the code yourself. Check the Stickies for a how-to. If you can give us the actual, exact code, we can help. Without that, we can't really help you without randomly spitballing, which never ends well.

the check engine code is p0505..the idle bounces..feels like the car will stall..sounds like a gay version of a 2 step at neutral..help please

 

Clean the IACV and then use the service manual procedure to adjust the idle speed - see FAQs sticky.

 

Define torn. If the wire is jacked up thats probably your problem?

 

i cleaned the iacv and it def helped..burped the radiator..now it idles a lot better but still not like it used to..i guess im gonna have to adjust the idle speed..no check engine yet i have to wait for the ecu to reset and hopefully it works out

 

um...fix the MAF sensor then clean the IACV...both of which are free to do.
then reset the code.
