Default Tach and CEL not working

I was working on my civic yesterday and today, I drove it for the first time in about 6 months. I've been having a fuel system supply CEL code problem. I let the car do about 3 fan cycles and drove it around. Then restarted the car and the CEL was off. Drove it around some more then the tach stopped working.

Today I was going to try and time the ignition, and I jumped the jumper plug and no cel so I reset my ecu. After the reset car is idling bad like I had my cel again... So I know it's on but the light isn't working or something. I don't know if the speedo is working but I know the battery light and srs light work fine.

I took the cluster out to check the connections and everything was fine... And I need it all to work so I can adjust my idle and fix everything else. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks.

Yes, I did search and nothing helps.

Have the igniter unit in the distributor tested. It sends the tach signal to the tach.

Sometimes the ECU needs some time to relearn the idle after a reset.

If you turn the key from off to ON(II) and the CEL turns on for 2 seconds, then it works.

When the ignition is turned to the on position the light doesn't work. The srs light and battery light work.

Check whether the bulb is blown.

The bulb was fine, the oil pressure light usually turns on too in the on position I believe and that isn't working either.

"Was fine" is different than "is fine". Check the bulbs and post back on what you find.

I mean that I checked them when I took out to cluster to check the connections about 2 hours ago. They are fine.

How did you test the bulbs? Test whether the bulb sockets get voltage.

I just visually looked at the inside of the bulb. I don't have a test light or a volt meter. That's what I'll be picking up soon.

Not very reliable^.

Test the bulbs by swapping them into sockets known to work.

All lights work, I'll check on the igniter tomorrow. I just replaced it after my z6 rebuild so I'll see if I didn't put the ground on tight enough.

I really just want to get this running right... It feels never ending. Lol. I got p29 pistions.. wish I never did because I think that's been my problem. Now the whole tach and CEL thing... sucks lol.

What ground? Check the blue wire attached to the igniter unit.

CEL thing
I have told you how to troubleshoot this issue.

I tested the lights by moving them to a spot that worked and all of them worked. I'm not speculating. And I meant the blue wire... I'll check everything when I get the chance and keep you updated. thanks Ron.
