obd2 cars all cars 96 and up:

plug in obd2 ecu and scan for check engine lights. no rolling dyno test.

also gas cap pressure test. stupid.

obd1 cars pre96:

rolling dyno emissions test, may have gas cap pressure test.

for obd2 cars thats pretty cool you drive in and if you have no CELs then no further investigation necessary.

i dont know what you mean. got emissions sticker today. no rolling dyno test. just plug into stock ecu...and check gas cap.

 

is that for every state? i live in TN and i have a turbo odbII car with no check engine light and still failed. All they did was test pressure gas cap and plug diagnostic plug into ecu. Failed because it said my ecu was not readiness??? i have no clue what that is and now im on temporary tags!!!!!

Emissions testing policy is based upon state law not federal law. It will vary by state.

 

no its only for 4 counties in Texas: 3 in DFW area and 1 in houston.

 

They tested my car its running obd II

 

testing means what exactly?

they did not dyno my car. no sniffer.

maybe they dont like you.

 

I hope this never comes to San Antonio, but I feel it's on it's way.
