I figured it out, it was just a bent cam gear.






Can anyone help me figure out what this Loud Engine Tick, did a slight engine rebuild (new gaskets, cleaned up the motor a little bit) and I put it all back together and now it has a loud tick that sounds like its coming from the timing belt side.

Possibility that it could be the LMA's but I dont want to just start throwing money at it.

I also already did the valve lash as well

Any Ideas?

sounds like you may have adjusted the valves wrong...i had a similar problem. LMAs dont go bad all that often.

 

hmm it was doing before I adjusted them, but I should probably check it again anyways

if it was doing it before you touched anything, check the valve lash, and adjust. double/tripple check them before you close it up.

Did you bend it in the removal/installation? Or did it warp?

 

It was already bent when I took it out, but it didn't make noise before so i thought it wouldnt be a problem
