Default HELP!!! Stripped header nut.

Of course it's the one behind the tightest bend of the header. Any suggestions on how to get it off??

can you get a cut off tool in there? If not try and notch it and treat it like a flathead.

can't notch it since it is a nut and the would be a bolt sticking out in the middle. You're going to have to find some way to hammer on a 6 point socket and get it off that way. Lemme guess you used a 12mm 12 point socket and it rounded off?

Stay away from 12 points they suck.

How did you ever guess??? to me!!

I'll try the 6 point approach. It's gonna be tough because it's the bottom left nut and it's hard to get anything on that thing besides a regular wrench.

Thanks guys!

Another method you could try would be to remove the entire stud. Perhaps clamp on with a set of vice grips of course this will ruin the stud so you would have to replace that but then at least you have the header off.

6-point socket is the way to go. I truly agree on that. You really should try to remove the stud it just might work.

Just use vise grips and take the entire stud out, new studs are only like $5.

I went to Sears last night and hooked up some nice Craftman 6pt. sockets. Plus, I picked up a 11mm 6pt. socket to lay down the hammer on that friggen nut.

If that doesn't work I'll have to resort to the good ol' vice grip technique.

Thanks people!!
