Activate vtec on P28 without speedo/VSS?
Does anybody know how the computer "reads" speed via the OBD1 p28 computer in regards to activating vtec?
Please do not suggest to use an RPM switch - from what I understand, that will only mechanically engage Vtec, but the computer won't change the fuel maps accordingly. I could be wrong here through.
In short, I want to be able to activate vtec in an application with no speedometer/electronic VSS and without throwing a CEL.
I know guys are already activating vtec by bypassing the pressure switch. Curious if there's a simple solution here that I don't know about for the speed aspect as well.
Please advise!

There's no easy way to "fix" the issue. The application (not a car) does not use a speedometer or a VSS. "fixing it" would be by giving it a speedometer/VSS isn't really an option and would be cost and mechanically prohibitive. Thanks guys.
