b18c into my CRX , o2 problem? FRUSTRATEDx100
Hello every1, this problem has been driving me nuts now i swapped a b18c (JDM TYPE R) into my 88 CRX (hf) abt two months ago and havent been able to drive it because of how crazy it runs if possible for it to even stay running. It originally came with a buit b16 in it which ran kinda crazy but only once it warmed up.. now it seems like this car is running very similar and the guy said all it needs is a new 02 sensor.. well my friends told me the performance of the car shouldnt really be affected by there being no o2 plugged up. so I took this guys hacked up harness to pro function here by chicago and just got wiring back... they combined my 0bd0 harness with an obd2 harness i got from a friend for the motor and that didnt stop this problem. I switched map sensors twice and also bought a brand new tps since tps was broken and it is still having problems running. I noticed though the longer I prime the car ..the longer it stays running it seems or starts better. The timing is ok my father n I did that but like I said i think somethin can be wrong with the fuel pump the guy said he put a wallbro in it but i dont know if there is some type of problem with it.. I wish I just had the money to take it somewhere but I dont. Any opinions appreciated.. thank you
whats the reason for the combining of the obd0 and obd2 harness??
i have a b18cR in my 91 DX and im still using the same dpfi that i have converted to mpfi (besides depinning and repinning for the dizzy).
if i were you i would source another engine harness (maybe a si one) and start with a better platform (engine harness wise) not saying fixing people hacked up engine harness is impossible, but it just saves tons and tons of headache. For ex. what your dealing with right now.

yea i understand but I took it to profunction because I tried many many harnesses and I read that i have an obd0 car and obd2 motor so I need to put em together and thats what I did took it to profunction and the guys said I know exactly what you need which was prob only my alternator wire wired up and few other stuff but literally nothing is missing. Guy before me had a CEL switch like a jumper but I havent hooked that back up I feel like its going to throw a few codes and I wont be able to read it.. I found a write up very similar to mine and this guys ended up being his rotor inside his dizzy but mine is brand spanking new so i cant see it being that >>http://hondaswap.com/general-tech-ma...-403260/2.html
Also yes I am going to try making another video , just did timing today with my pops it was a little bit off we noticed which is what he told me to check first of course but i thought it was normal.. we did timing and it hasnt fixed problem though. Just debating if i should even bother picking up brand new o2 sensor i cant afford replacing all this stuff , wish I could just figure this out. The way it runs is ok when i prime it for a sec then crank it it ll idle a little if i give it gas it will die. When I give it gas it sputters like a misfire ,i noticed when i drove it home from a buddies it was bad when i would rev it higher or more around 4 or 5,000 RPM thats when misfiring would worsen.
Also is it true that a walbro will not pick up if its 1/4 tank or lower? My dad just showed me two write ups that say that now and im curious..

Ya I'm gna reset it tmrrw I read that also on a write up when u switch sensors up n replace em u need to sometimes reset it.
Ok ,today woke up early connected everything and removed old gas dude had sitting in car for 3 years ,ended up being old gas. Sounds absolutely retarded but yea that was my problem. I don't have front o2 plugged up ( upward bung) and I notice it hesitates during v tec and doesn't make full power I know its not so that's prob my o2 sensor right ..? Appreciate everyone's input cent believe this was my problem after switching everything but car idles fine now just that little misfiring around higher rpm
Just put in o2 that i had to wire up today car runs pretty good .Also filled it all the way up and added octane booster ,think it still needs to get rid of some of that **** gas
