ECU question about passing emissions test
does my ecu have vin identification?
i have a 98 civic with hondata s300 which i cant run the new e-tests coming in Jan due to plugging in the obd2. im worried they are going to see a incorrect vin. knowing this information will determine the future of my turbo toy... thanks for any help!

i know my S300 is an obd1, and to change it back to obd2 would be tons of work, but if i take my buddy's 98 civic DX and plug it in, i hope im golden... changing vin on dash should be easy and it is easyer then changing injectors, installing all my evap crap, map sensors, o2's, and everything else i have in the car.

Please refrain from talking about potentially illegal activities inside of this forum.
If you choose to do illegal stuff, it is important that it is understood that it is *NOT* endorsed by Honda-Tech, therefore, shouldn't be mentioned on it.

OP, stop worrying about it. The ECU doesn't store your VIN. Period.

Also Honda ECU's (from that Era) have no VIN data. No OBD2A ECU's do (as far as I know).
im a drive clean inspector and repair tech so, thats why i know whats coming up in 2013... and im not going to be doing anything illegal, these are just theoretical questions which in the end i dont want to deal with so the car is going up for sale next week or im selling the car to my g/f who lives in a part of Canada where e-tests are not needed, love the country side!!!! thanks everyone for your help! maybe see you at the honda-tech meet in toronto tomorrow!
