Default f22a sohc non vtech boost build

Ok all... after blowing my first stock f22 i decided to up the stakes a lil bit so this is where i'm at thus far with my new build. I'm building an f22a4 i picked up after my original f22a6 blew. Well not totally. The cylinders held up great and showed absolutely no signs of cracks so why didn't i re-elect to just rebuild what i had you ask? I'm glad you asked! i didn't rebuild it because i previously had the block bored over .030 and id been tossing around in my mind .."just how much boost can a stock block take"? So with that in mind and not enough money to have it sleeved, being bored .030 was taking a fairly big chunk of iron from my stock cylinders and seeing how under 19 lbs and some cracked ringlands later the cylinders still looked great. i almost elected to go with an 86 mm piston and those are easy to come by as there are several companies out there that produce em but it still lingers in my mind that its thinning the cylinder walls quite a bit and i'm wanting to build a reliable DD. So i elected to have a custom set of 85 mm 9:1's built for me in hopes to make good HP and keep reliability. Thus far the block guard has been fit and the pistons matched to the cylinders and the block has been honed to spec. im waiting on my ring set from wiseco to continue as my "2nd" rings were to loose from what was spec'd. So here is my current build sheet

Engine:
f22a4
9:1 forged pistons
forged H beam rods
KMS block guard
Stock crank
Toga high volume oil pump
ACL bearings
Hondata s300
precision 880cc injectors
Hondata 4 bar map sensor
hondata electric boost controller
AEM wideband 02 sensor and gauge
OBX intake/H series throttle body
omni 70 mm throttle body
ACT 6 puck clutch
ACT extreme pressure plate
Walbro 255 fuel pump
ebay turbo log manifold
precision turbo 6152E
turbonetics delta II wastegate
Stock Sohc head with upgrades:
5 angle valve job
mild port and polish
supertech valves(1mm over-sized intake,2mm over-sized exhaust)
bisimoto titanium springs
bisimoto 1.2 cam
bisimoto 5 layer head gasket
bisimoto intake gasket

that about covers the engine. I'll edit it if i forgot anything.

Nice project, might i make a few suggestions/questions. The high vol water pump is prolly unnecessary, i understand your block is bored over but its not so much a higher psi rad cap and thermostat that would open at a cooler temp wouldnt cure.

Acl bearings, if you didnt know if its not the race series then they are duraglides which i hear a lot of people having problems with them. Acl is also king which i had in my b2, first start up, spun a bearing after the hours i spent rechecking everything and all the measuring....Oem bearings are always the best bet

I cant remember if your manifold has the butterflies, if it does keep that one, have the butterflies taken out and get it all bored to be one big *** plenum, also im pretty sure the h22 dont line up the cooling port for the egr atleast the h23 didnt on my b1. Lot of research showed it was more trouble than its worth, and the ported stock mani is greatly preferred.

For turbo mani, i recommend spoolin performance or treadstone.

5 angle valvejobs....from what i been told by a few engine builders although do benifit the extra cost vs a 3 angle is not worth it on a dd (500 and below).

Oversized valves, i know plenty of people that have made high numbers using stock or just 1mm oversize intake valves on all honda motors. The personal i know are 300-400, 674, 700whp marks on stock valves or 1mm oversize (i hate using the my friends car makes this excuse tho)

Bisimoto, i was deadset on getting bisi parts, then someone showed me a little something that made me think. Long story short as far as bisi's cams go you can get regrinds from delta for a fraction of the price.

This is just my input. Keep us updated!

also hat he was sayin with the water pump ^ sometimes you don't want the water flowing through the engine as fast as possible because it will flow so fast that it doesn't get a chance to cool the engine down. We've actually had to taper down the rad hosing in my racecar so that wouldn't happen

sorry its a high volume oil pump ..that was a type-O they dont make the race series anymore so yes they are duraglides.. we shall see on startup.. i have had really good success with them in tha past and if you spun one at startup.. um dont blame the bearing.. was proly something you overlooked....
i went with the OBX intake mani instead of the stock one.. the turbo mani is what ive had for some time now and though its not the best it'll work for the time being... i got the 5 angle because they gave me a smoking deal on the job and really did me right thus far at this machine shop.. my oversized valves.. well i kn ow im saying that im shooting for 350 hp to the wheels but im certain it will do much better.. thats just the number ill be happy with reaching so id rather OVERBUILD and be on the safe side... as far as the bisi parts... welllllllll i have had my issues in dealing with them but im not here to flame them.. but lets just say that if i could do it over "i would"

picked up an omni 70 mm throttle body from a buddy for dirt cheap only used a few times so i was stoked to add that to my obx intake and an other thing to my build list. :-)
